Elginhill is the business and consultancy owned by Steve and Jill Farmer.

A bit of history, Steve started work as an electronics engineer with a UK subsidiary of the American Technology company CDC where he was a test and diagnostic engineer working in their Hard Disk factory in Cheshire, quickly rising to run the test and diagnostic department for their flagship Pheonix product line.

In 1985 he left and joined the German company Siemens as a field service engineer working on High Speed Printers, moving to a team leader position and then to UK Technical Support, specialising in the systems and software elements of their turnkey print solution.

In 1999, Steve setup a sideline business developing utility software and providing local support, this grew to the level that in 2003 he left to develop and run this business full time using the Field Service skills from his time at Siemens.

Steve was still developing software and as this was not mainstream to the hardware field service, he setup Elginhill as a vehicle to sell and market the software services being developed.

In 2018, he left his service business and decided to pursue a consultancy role as well as returning to his roots of electronic development, the most notable product being the Simbell Wireless Hardware that can be used to teach and practice Church Bell ringing.

Steve supported by his wife Jill now offers consultancy services to small and large businesses on all aspects of Information Technology as well as prototype product development of small run electronics.

His passion for exceptional levels of support is well known as well as being able to cut through the technology to communicate straightforward advice to those who engage his services.
